Nurses of Instagram: 10 Accounts You Should Follow

For fun, for facts, for inspiration, for the ability to feel like a human again: Meet the Nurses of Instagram.

When you’re having a stressful day, when those call lights seem like they have been PAINTED red, when your 8 hour shift magically turns into 12 – there’s nothing that will lighten your spirits more than a good hearty laugh, a little fun entertainment, and even some inspirational stories from the only people on the planet that will “get it”.

So, grab a glass of wine and sit back and relax before you fall asleep at 8:30pm.

We’ve pulled together some of our favorite Nurses of Instagram  and we hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we do.

If memes are your thing, you’ll want to check out some of the funniest ones we’ve ever seen this side of the Mississippi. And with over 342,000 followers, apparently, we’re not the only ones.

2. @nursesofinstagram

A community of nurses that is sure to make you smile after THAT shift you just had with a funny assortment of posts from the good, to the bad, to the ugly.

3. @nursehumorprn

Maybe not for everybody on the block as this account does come with its own warning: “This is humor, we all love our jobs and give our patients 100+ % Laughs make it easier. If you get butt hurt easily, this is not your page.” But we know that a little laugh goes a long way and sometimes, someone just needs to say it.

4. @nursemendoza

Aside from being a pretty attractive male nurse, Nurse Mendoza will show you some of the most gruesome cases he’s come across, and well, who are we kidding, you’ve probably seen it all before, right?

5. @nursingschool

If you’re in nursing school, this is an account you’ll absolutely relate to: “Nursing. Pictures, quotes, & some humor to remind you why you chose to do it in the first place.”

6. @nursingschoolproblems

Another great account to follow if you’re in, or were recently in, nursing school. This account is run by a woman named Anastasia, a nursing school graduate who shares her raw take on #nurselife with a bunch of inspiration thrown in for good measure.

7. @yournurseeducator

If you’re looking for something outside of humor, check out “Your Nurse Educator”, a nurse that breaks down procedures, codes, and gives you the down-low on nurse life. Perfect for someone fresh out of nursing school.

8. @thekatieduke

With over 116,000 follows, Katie Duke, ACNP-BC, is a pretty popular nurse based out of New York. She shares posts that are at times inspiring, always fun, and completely relatable.

9. @ashleyadkinsrn

Ashley Adkins, BSN, RN, CCRN is an RN in a Medical Surgical ICU who gives you first-hand knowledge of nurse life as a young mother. If you have children, this is one account that is sure to inspire.
