Emergency War Powers Utilized to Solve for Medical Supply Shortage

As anyone within a 100 square mile radius of any nurse on the planet is aware - due to a higher patient censuses in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, there has been a serious shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) (along with other vital medical supplies) and a well founded demand by nurses and nursing unions across the country that hospitals get their sh*t together. Excuse our french.

In response, just today President Trump signed an executive order and announced he'd be utilizing emergency war powers (the Defense Production Act) to accelerate the production of medical supplies.

It's not yet 100% clear what this will look like - but could force certain manufacturing companies to produce medical supplies that are in short supply, like PPE and ventilators.
